In this video, I'll share some of my favorite utility scripts for REAPER 🤩
- REAPER Update Utility by FTC: This script allows fast and easy REAPER updates.
- Gridbox by FTC: This script shows your current grid size and offers an adaptive grid.
- Lil Chordbox by FTC: This script identifies the chord in your MIDI editor.
- MX Tuner by FTC: This script is a media explorer add-on that enables you to tune your samples to different notes.
- Global Sampler by BirdBird: This script is a sampler that continuously records what you are hearing. You can select and import this back into the project.

📖 Installation instructions
First, to install these scripts, ensure you have ReaPack installed.
If not, please follow this tutorial I created: How to install ReaPack. It should take a couple of minutes to install.
Import FTC Scripts (Update utility, MX Tuner, Gridbox & Chordbox)
With Reapack installed, import the following repository. To do so, go to Extensions > ReaPack > Import a Repository and paste the following link:

To install Global Sampler by Birdbird, import the following repository. To do so, go to Extensions > ReaPack > Import a Repository and paste the following link:

Once you imported the repositories, these scripts should now appear in the Actions menu (shortcut: ?).
All of these scripts should show up in the Main section, except Lil Chordbox which shows up in the MIDI editor section. (Find this dropdown in the top right corner of the Actions menu)
Most of these scripts are straightforward. You can run them from the actions menu, and they'll work immediately.
However, Global Sampler requires a bit more setup. Please follow the detailed instructions here → Global Sampler Forum Thread.
Note: When you first open the script, you will probably get a message saying “Insert the global sampler JSFX plugin to start recording”. For this plugin to appear, you need to re-scan your plugins. You can do so by going into Preferences > VST and clicking “Re-scan…”.
Once you have JSFX: Global Sampler, insert this FX on the track you want to record. I suggest placing it on your Monitoring FX Chain, this way it’s always there and will record everything.
